The new 2025 Shimano Aero X5a Distance Power model is now available with a 150g casting test. The old model was called Distance Heavy Power and was overpowered, so it's fair to say that the old 120g model has now been converted to a 150g model in terms of its power output. However, we would certainly not be wrong in saying that the current 150 g model is more pleasant in the hand than the old 120 g model. Read more about the 2025 series here:

Model designed by Fider's sports masters. Each model has its own story, tested for years and improved many times until it was fully fit for purpose. The Aero X5 is not a one-size-fits-all fyder. Each one is designed for a specific situation. Strong quality rings, very high quality limbs that don't twist when bent. The limbs come in two ring diameters. Slimmer with smaller ones, more powerful with larger ones.

This 396cm and 120g casting model is one of the top choices for river fishing when you need very heavy feeders and larger rings. All the rings on this model, from the first ring to the tip, are large. You can confidently use a Shimano Ultegra 5500 or similar size reel. This is a very powerful rod capable of casting 80-150g feeders very far. The Aero X5 120g can withstand the test of the spring Skirvytė competition, when you have to throw a 200g weight without sparing yourself or your rod.
