Rapala "The Jerk" lure is distinguished by its unique tail design - a forked (V-shaped) tail end that creates a special movement in the water. Why fork-tailed design?
Fork-tailed lures such as The Jerk mimic the behaviour of a wounded fish - sudden, erratic and fast - triggering the hunting instincts of prey fish. The fork-tailed design helps to stabilise the lure, ensuring that it does not twist and maintains the desired movement even during slower retrieves.
