Description

Major Craft Stabi Shad Slim is a slim, slick and precise soft shad bait, especially suitable for sturgeon and other larger predators. Its design with chest stabilisers allows for a natural and realistic swimming effect even at slow speeds.

Key features:

  • Slim profile - the lure is sleeker, with a smaller transverse volume, resulting in subtle movements and a very natural effect.

  • Stabilizer chest (stab fins) - reduces excessive flutter, helps to maintain a straight course and stable movement.

  • Many lengths - Slim version is available in 3.5″/8.9 cm, 4″/10.2 cm, as well as up to 7″/17.78 cm versions

  • Versatile use - salt and fresh water - both Salt Water Version available,

  • and Fresh Water Version variants

  • Realistic colours - the range of colours includes the Live series such as Live Iwashi, Live Saba, Live Kibinago, Live Dojo and more.

  • Reel attachment - suitable for use with jig heads, stinger systems or other tactics

Why is the Stabi Shad Slim a particularly good choice for stalking?

Sturgeon often respond to sleek baits that don't lose realism in their movements. The Slim version generates subtle vibrations and a more natural look thanks to its slimmer design, making it particularly effective in areas where predators are more wary. In addition, the stabilisers ensure that the bait does not flop over, which is very important when it comes to maintaining a natural behaviour, even on slow retrieves.

One of the more exciting developments for 2025 is that one of Japan's largest spinnerbait manufacturers is entering the soft bait market. It offers not only the small rubber lures that are popular in Japan, but also large rubber lures. It is also pleasing to see that it has developed a range of colours for freshwater, especially for the European market.

As for the rubber itself, it is most surprisingly soft. It is certainly the softest and most flexible indigestible rubber I have seen. Moreover, it is not a salted and fatty chewing gum, which crumbles and fatten easily. It is a paintable rubber that can be painted in the colours you want, not just moulded with colours and glitter on the inside.

Stabi Shad also has a range of two types of colours. The first is for saltwater and is more reminiscent of the colours and dyes of chewable rubbers, and the second is for freshwater where the surface is already dyed. So now we have the usual pike or stark coloured rubbers, coloured as if they were a wobbler, but in very soft silicone.

This rubber also has natural-looking eyes and horizontal fins, which are there to stabilise the work, and that is where the name of the rubber comes from.
