    Description

The Zumpė Jūratė is a classic pike "shiny" made in Lithuania. Tauragė shiners were first produced in the Soviet era and the best models with the original stamp are still in production today. Many of the younger generation of anglers wonder whether it is worth having metal gates in their arsenal at all. What would be the arguments in favour? The Ažūklė team thinks it is worth it.

It is hard to argue that a rod can be thrown very far. It is undoubtedly one of the most long-distance lures. Just like the rubber rod, the shiner can be fished at a wide range of depths. Another argument is that there is a reason why they are called glitter lures, because they reflect sunlight as they wiggle and attract the attention of the predator. During the attack, the teeth of the predator are very easily slid by the hard metal body towards the adjacent treble hook and the fish will bite on its own. And baits armed with a single treble hook leave the predator with very little chance of disengaging. The Ažūklė team recommends that the gates should be used in water bodies where pike are under heavy pressure from anglers at the time of the fishing season. Nowadays, many anglers release their catch, so pike have tasted a lot of rubber and wobblers and are instinctively more cautious, and the metal gate is a much overlooked lure in pike angling, which gives them an extra chance.
