If you were to compare the old 2020 model with this new one, the first thing that just screams out when you pick it up is the weight. The old Lunamis was already light, but this new 2026 is a total fluff - for example, the most popular model has lightened from around 136 g to 120 g, which feels very strong when you're waving it around all day. Another important feature is the handle: it is no longer round, but has special edges (called "Edge Shape") that "stick" to the palm of the hand much better and give an even sharper transmission to every pebble or knuckle. There is also a new Aero Coat, which not only provides better protection against salts, but also eliminates the unnecessary lacquer layer, thus further refining sensitivity. Plus, on the more powerful models, the rings have been updated so that the thick braided line hits the blank as little as possible when cast. And very importantly for us, Shimano hasn't forgotten the boaters this time. Shorter models, around 2.30 m, with tests up to 25 g or 35 g have been launched, which is just perfect for sturgeon anglers, because these are the most current parameters on our market. In a word, everything has been done to make the tool even lighter, sharper and more pleasant in the hand.
