A fish net is an indispensable accessory for bottom and float fishing. Without it, it would be impossible to keep the fish caught alive.

Fish nets are classified according to their shape, length and the material they are made of.

Fish nets can be from 0.5m to 4m long. Short fish nets are designed for fishing from a boat or from a bridge. The 4m long fish net is mostly used by sportsmen, as this is the required length. If you are fishing from quays, and for amateur fishermen, it is advisable to buy at least a 3m long sieve as shorter ones will not reach sufficient depth.

Fish nets come in round or rectangular shapes. Round nets are usually short and more suitable for beginners. Quality nets are rectangular. They make it easier for the fish to be submerged in water. Less depth is needed to keep the bottom of the net submerged and prevent the fish from suffocating.

Fish nets can be made of nylon, latex-coated material or rubber. The cheapest sieves are nylon, but they are difficult to wash and smell for a long time. However, they do not harm the fish. Latex-coated nets for holding fish are slightly more damaging to the fish, but easier to wash. The most appreciated by us is the rubber fish sieve. Rubber fish strainers are the easiest to wash and the least smelly. However, it is not very fish-friendly. In stronger swells, the fish will rub against the walls.

Rubber fish strainers have another disadvantage - they cost the most. The price also depends on the frames. The best frames are external and aluminium. External frames are needed to prevent the sieve from slipping on rough surfaces such as quay concrete or shore stones.
