Bait alarms

Electronic strike-signals are helpers that are used in conjunction with swings. The swing tensions the line, which is not placed on the rod holder of the pole, but on the alarm wheel screwed to the pole or the rod stand, which starts to rotate as the line moves and signals the bite with sound and lights.

Electronic bite alarms can be sold individually or in sets. Kits of electronic beacons usually include a remote control. You can leave your fishing spot and see 100 m or even 200 m away when and on which rods the fish are hooked.

What are the functions of an electronic alarm for fishing?

The Electronic Fishing Alarm has several functions to make fishing easier and is useful for both bottom and carp fishing. First of all, it signals with sound and lights when a bite is on. When buying alarms, you can also find them with or without sensitivity adjustment. We recommend that you choose the ones with this function, as the price does not vary and this function is very useful when you need to reduce the sensitivity in case of waves or strong winds. Virtually all electronic alarms have tone and volume control, so there's no need to be overwhelmed here.

Modern bite alarms for fishing comfort and efficiency

The most modern alarms are sold in sets. They have a special carrying case and come with 2 to 4 alarms and are called a transceiver. The receiver is designed to see which alarm has been triggered over a distance that varies from 100 m to 300 m, depending on the strength of the receiver and the specifics of the terrain. The signal reaches furthest in open plains, least in mountainous terrain.

As there are often two or three bottom or carp rods cast, even if you have been holed up or sleeping in a tent, you will be able to see which rod you are hooked on and be ready to bite or check your bait. After the bite, it still glows for quite a while. More modern fishing beacons have a function to show whether the line has been pulled or, conversely, has been released.

You can buy inexpensive bait tell-tales online from us, aimed more at hobbyists or beginner carp anglers. However, nowadays you can get very unusual sets of alarms with all the functions you need for €100. This is the case with the Lithuanian brand Atora.
