Without advertising

Major Craft Finetail Salmon is a rod designed specifically for salmon fishing in our country and it is not an advertising slogan, but the result of cooperation between the Japanese manufacturer and Lithuanian fishermen. The idea came about when salmon fishermen were unable to get their hands on the legendary St. Croix Avid long spinning rod because the Americans stopped producing them and were more interested in other markets and other predators, and the Avid was already a very conservative rod with, to put it mildly, outdated fittings and a low-sensitivity blank. So Major Craft was asked to develop a blank with similar characteristics to the Avid, with better fittings, a handle that wasn't too long, which was so frustrating for many, and an even better performance blank, while still maintaining the same shaft action and fish handling. The main question is whether it worked? Since this is an "unadvertised" column, the unvarnished truth must be told, so this question can be fully answered after the season in contact with salmon anglers who will be fishing with this rod. But still, in hindsight, the result looks stunning and the prediction is that it will become the most popular salmon spinning rod in Lithuania for many years to come.

Why do we think so? Just by picking up this rod and waving it around, you can really feel the same strong semi-rapid semi-parabolic action that St. Croix Avid. Big rings, a non-plated second part of the spinning rod which will make it very easy to throw the flying Timon so that it flies without spinning like an arrow, which is not the case with every spinning rod. The very nice, non-slip elbow cork grip, with a modern and closed thread reel holder tightening, will no longer cause problems with reel recoil. Excellent Fuji K-rings, a very nice overall design and, last but not least, the price. At least for the time being, it is impressively low compared to the product itself and to the prices of competing rods at this level.

The FSX-982M model is more powerful with a test of up to 28g and it will appeal more to those who fish not only with wobblers but also with shiners and those who like to fish with #1.5Pe (0.19mm) whales.

The FSX-982ML is more suited to wobblers and #1.2Pe walleye, but it will not be too weak to cast all wobblers perfectly far, which is not possible with the too-light spinning rods, which are heavily promoted as salmon rods, but make you feel like you are "without paddles" in a bigger river.
