Lending nets, lipgrips

A fish grab is a round or triangular net with a shaft for pulling catches out of the water. There are many different types of grab for different types of fishing, but there are cheap grabs that are suitable for both spinning and bottom or float fishing. However, for a more serious grab, it will have a specific purpose. What is the difference between spinning and whitebait grabs?

Fishing grabs for spinning fish

Spinning does not require a long shaft. When fishing from a boat, a 1m shaft plus the head is sufficient. When fishing from the shore, the shaft can be as short as 1.5m, and when fishing in the surf, the shaft of the grab can be as short as 30-70 centimetres. In angling, it is most important that the fishing nets have a special rare mesh and a tangle-free net. It can be latex-coated, rubberised, or made of thick wool, but silicone is best, as it means that bait hooks are less likely to get caught in the net. Pike lures must not only have the correct netting, but also a deep folding head. Pike have a nasty habit of jumping out of a too small grab. Even though it manages to get a bite, it jumps in the grab and often the bait is caught in the net and the pike is on its way, without ever having posed for the camera.

Grabbing fish with a bottom or float fishing rod

For float or bottom fishing, the shafts of the grab are telescopic or multi-part and are 2-4m long. Such lengths are necessary when fishing with long rods, sometimes from different quays. There are also different grab heads for different types of fishing. For bottom fishing, the netting of the grab head must be dense and light enough not to be difficult to hold on a long pole. In our shop, we have a wide range of types of fish scrapers, from cheap amateur gear to the most serious ones used by professional sportsmen.
