Systems

Method systems

Ready-made Method systems are a favourite not only with amateurs, but also with athletes who don't have the confidence or the time to tie their hair correctly. Factory-made systems, like most fishing tackle, can be cheap and of questionable quality, but they are also of very high quality, made from the very best materials. Owner systems are of very high quality with the highest quality shaft and hooks, but they are only suitable for amateurs because the hooks are barbed, and in competitions you must fish with barbless hooks. Sportsmen usually prefer Preston or Guru brand systems with barbless hooks. The size of hook to choose depends on the intended catch and the size of the lure. If you are fishing with a 12mm diameter lure, then you should choose a larger hook, at least #8 or 6#, and if you are fishing with a 6mm wafter, then a #14 hook will not be too small either.

Mono or Pinto Method system?

The tying systems are available in both pinto and mono walleye. When using a braided main line and fishing for bream, tench or crucian carp, the mono line system is the way to go. However, when fishing for carp with a mono mainline, pinto lines are now the most popular. However, braided line is much stronger than mono and the main line provides the necessary shock absorption. In the past, the use of braided lines was forbidden to sportsmen, so most of the big brands only made them with a mono reel, but the rules have relaxed and braided lines are now an increasingly popular choice for sportsmen fishing on commercial waters.
