Casting rods (spinning rods) are fishing rods designed for fishing with multiplier reels. They will not be suitable for simple barbless reels, just as a multiplier reel will not work with a simple spinning rod.

What is the difference between a casting rod and a regular rod?

First of all, a casting rod has a different reel holder. It has a trigger that helps to hold the rod more firmly. Also, the rings of the casting rod look upwards instead of downwards, because the reel itself is also facing upwards. The rings of a casting rod are also smaller, especially the first rings closest to the reel. This is because when fishing with a multiplier reel, the line is wound straight without looping and easily slips through the small rings, whereas the small rings are lighter and the blank is less loaded and therefore faster action and lighter.

Which casting shaft should I choose for twerking?

For casting, you should choose a casting rod 190-220cm long. If you plan to fish with 11-13cm wobblers it is best to go up to 21g. If the aim is to cast far, choose a rod with a faster action. The xfast action is certainly not to be feared either, it is important that the limb is not glued and not very thin. If the goal is to fish closer distances, you can also choose a slower action rod, which gives a softer twitch, better holding, but much closer casting, less sensitivity and harder bite.

Which casting rod should I choose for big rubber?

It all depends on the size of the lure. If the lure is 12-15cm long, 2.2m-2.3m and up to 42g test is sufficient. For 14-18cm, choose a 2.2m-2.5m casting rod with a casting test up to 56g. If the rubber is 18-22cm, you can choose a 100g casting rod 2.3-2.6m long, etc.

Ažūklė has the largest live selection of casting rods in Lithuania, which are on sale, always at a good price and can be found online at www.azukle.lt or at Pramonės pr. 41a, Kaunas.
