Rod holders

The poles are used for both bottom fishing and float fishing. They are designed to support a fishing rod. In the past, fishermen used to simply carve stakes out of tree or bush branches, but nowadays it is not legal to do this and, in order to avoid damaging trees, it is possible to buy a simple aluminium stake for 1.5 euros. As time has gone on, the stakes have improved and there is now a serious choice of stakes of varying quality. Fishing poles can be as simple as 1 euro, or they can be very sturdy and long, with a thread to make it easier to screw them into the various shore surfaces. The price of such jigs can be as high as 15eur. A more careful search on the internet will reveal even more expensive, stainless steel stakes. All stakes are telescopic in two parts. When split, their length ranges from 40cm to 1m. When split, the length is almost double. However, stakes are not the only way to support fishing rods. Fishing poles are also used to support fishing rods, as are pole tripods and fider tripods.

Fishing poles

Fishing poles are most commonly used by carp anglers and less commonly by bottom fishermen. Carp anglers use tripods or cat-legged stands to hold three or four rods. A tripod is less stable, but can be used to lift the rod tips up above tall grasses and the like. A four-legged stand will not do this. Bottom fishing enthusiasts usually buy rods for fishing on bridges or quays, because you just can't get a pole in there.

Tripods

Tripods for feeder rods are now commonly referred to as tripods. It is a stand with three telescopic legs, usually used to support a single rod. Tripods come without a screw-on rod holder, which is purchased separately. Alternatively, you can buy a two-rod holder separately to support two rods on a tripod if needed.
